Violet Elizabeth Mary Overton

Violet passed away peacefully at the Lady Dunn Health Centre on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, one day shy of her 83rd birthday. Violet was predeceased by her husband William Thomas, and daughter Elizabeth McKinnon and sisters Marcella, Sara and Delma. She is survived by her children Kenny, Mickey (Catherine), Bev Boyd (Bob), Ritchie (Violette), Tricia Lalonde (Lance), Willy and Alfie; brother Dr. Alfred Cooper (Margaret) and sister Stella Piche. She was a loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and Chi Nokomis or GG to many great-grandchildren. Friends were invited to visit at the P.M. Gilmartin Funeral Home, Wawa (1-800-439-4937) on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 7 pm to 9 pm. A Funeral Service was held at St. Monica’s Church on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 12 noon with Reverend Bonnie Rayner officiating. The family would like to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Long Term Care at the Lady Dunn Health Centre for their careful, loving care during her six years living in extended care. Trusting her wellbeing to so many caring people allowed her family ease of mind. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lady Dunn Long Term Care Activity Fund would be greatly appreciated.
