Vindication for a cougar witness

After five years of ‘ribbing’ payback is very sweet indeed

To the Expositor:

There is no one happier than I am today after hearing Mr. Wenz won the $500 for the view of a cougar or puma. After seeing my cougar on December 23, 2008, on the Government Road just east of the Providence Bay dump in the middle of the snow covered hard-packed road, I couldn’t believe my eyes. That long tail caught my eye immediately as the pink panther came to my mind. It was a sunny cold day and I had lots of time to feast my eyes as I had come to a stop to retrieve a Christmas tree that had blown out of my truck box. As I told others about it, I realized I had to stop talking about it. Even my friend John Diebolt (then a Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officer) thought I had been out in the sun too long. John, I can’t wait to tell you ‘I told you so’ after five years of ribbing.
