In loving memory of Verna Wilkinson, a resident of Mindemoya, and formerly of Huntsville, who died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Friday, January 31, 2014. Verna was born in South Dorchester Township, daughter of the late John and Irene Crosby. Verna was a self taught professional, making coats and mitts from deer hide. As well she was an avid horticulturalist, professional cook, and her favourite of all, was collecting and repairing porcelain dolls, in particular Victorian era dolls and tending to her “Doll Hospital”. Verna was deeply loved by her family, and will be missed, but many memories will be cherished. Verna was predeceased by her beloved husband Emerald Wilkinson. Loving and loved mother of Allan and Oline Wilkinson of Mindemoya, Dan and Darlene Wilkinson of Huntsville, Kathy and Teacho Cerconi of Rocky River, Ohio and Randy Wilkinson of Huntsville. Proud grandmother of Renis, Adam, Anne, John, Jasmine, Nicolas, Eric, Caroline and Laura and great-grandchildren Jamine, Skyler, Ryley, Jaxson, Theo, Abigail, Emily and Danielle. Dear sister of Karl Crosby (predeceased) and Evert, wife Jean Crosby of Whitby. A Memorial Service to celebrate Verna’s life will be conducted at Salem Missionary Church, Spring Bay, and in Huntsville in the Spring at a date to be announced later.
