KIRKLAND LAKE – Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the assistance of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit have charged a man and a woman with drug offences. The charges stem from a vehicle stop for a traffic violation on Woods Street in Kirkland Lake. The subsequent investigation led to the seizure of methamphetamine pills, marihuana, money, prohibited weapons and drug paraphernalia. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on March 5, 2014.
Charged is Bruce MORNEAULT age 32 of Rouyn Noranda, Quebec with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, two counts of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. He was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
Also charged is Roxanne VALLAINCOURT-RUPERTHOUSE age 23 of St-Dominique De Rossaire, Quebec with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on April 10, 2014.
