MANITOULIN—This spring will see continuing court dates in Gore Bay for some of Manitoulin’s recent high profile ongoing criminal cases.
Kimel Corbiere, charged with the first degree murder of M’Chigeeng elder Johnny Panamick, will be before the courts for a discovery hearing slated for March 18. Mr. Kimel was recently involved in a weeks-long preliminary hearing, which wrapped up late last month.
Robert Travis Wemigwans, Tammy Trudeau, both of Wikwemikong, and Byron Kagige of Hamilton will again be in Gore Bay court on March 21 on their charges of second degree murder in the death of Percy Simon on May 17, 2015 to set a date for a judicial pre-trial for a focus hearing and preliminary hearing.
Lastly, accused Little Current arsonist Clinton Haggart will be before the court of April 5 for a judicial pre-trial in Superior Court.
