UCCM Police lays drug trafficking charges


AUNDECK OMNI KANING–On Sunday, April 6, while investigating a separate criminal matter, members of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service were alerted to the presence of drugs in the residence on the Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation.

As a result of the investigation, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant to search was executed at a residence on the Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation. Approximately 277 grams of cannabis marijuana was seized worth an estimated street value of $2,770. Police also seized cash and other property obtained by crime.

A 30-year-old male has been charged with: possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, under 3 kg CDSA 5(2), and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The accused is scheduled to appear in Gore Bay Court on Monday, June 23 at 10 am.

A 21-year-old female has also been charged with possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking, under 3 kg CDSA 5(2), and is scheduled to appear in Gore Bay Court on Monday, April 7.
