UCCM Police investigate ATV accident

During the early evening hours on Friday, August 8 UCCM Anishnaabe Police were dispatched to a report of an ATV rollover on Shiginiconing Road on the Sheshegwaning First Nation. Police report that there were two occupants on the ATV at the time of the accident, one was removed by air ambulance to Sudbury and the other by ambulance to Mindemoya. Both operator and passenger are being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

 

UCCM Police investigates animal complaint

During the afternoon hours of August 9 UCCM Police received a complaint that a dog on the M’Chigeeng First Nation was tied up at a residence and that the dog appeared to be injured. Upon investigation, police determined that the dog was suffering and in distress. The dog was removed by police and taken to a local veterinarian clinic for treatment. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

 

Theft of canoe from Mindemoya Lake

During the evening hours of August 10 a resident of Johnny’s Park Road in M’Chigeeng reported that his 16′ plastic Mad River canoe was stolen from his property. The canoe was properly pulled up onto shore and did not likely drift away. Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating this property or person(s) responsible for taking it.
