UCCM Anishinaabe Police acting sergeant receives national exemplary service medal

M’CHIGEENG— On Wednesday, September 9, United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin ( UCCM ) Anishinaabe Police Service Acting Sergeant Brian “Chuck” Ziegler was acknowledged by his community and peers at a ceremony in M’Chigeeng with a Police Exemplary Service Medal.

The Police Exemplary Service Medal, from the Governor General of Canada, recognizes police officers who have served in an exemplary manner, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency. Recipients of the medal must also have completed 20 years with one or more recognized Canadian police forces.

Chief of Police Rodney Nahwegahbow assisted UCCM Police Commission rep George Francis with the presentation that honoured the 20 years of dedicated service of Acting Sergeant Brian Ziegler with Mr. Francis giving remarks for the occasion.

“Brian has stepped up to the plate numerous times in high stress situations throughout his time here and I continue to hear good things about him from the public,” Chief of Police Nahwegahbow told The Expositor. “We take a lot of pride in him.”
