War is war, but rules go out the window
To the Expositor:
Here is a “truth bomb.” Perhaps I am alone on this, but I would like the media to clarify for those like me, in the dark. I am hearing that it was expected that there would be huge pushback and unrest about the money issue and Omar Khadr by means of survivors/victims’ families of his windfall.
I am hearing as well in the Trudeau settlement that any legal attacks at his (Khadr’s) new piggy bank of $10 million by the US/Canadian lawyers or other people he killed/injured/mutilated by lawyers to pay some compensation to those people whose lives he altered permanently, and we the Canadian taxpayer are to pay his legal defense bill? The media does not shed any light on that?
War is war, and sad, but the rules go out the window. How about in the Second World War where hardworking Asian people in the free world were jailed and put in Canada and US custody for their birth origin. There are so many other situations.
My opinion may be full disdain to some but it is an opinion. Did our First Nations people, who were victim of Residential Schools, get 10 million dollars each? Consider as well the short time it took to empty the taxpayer piggy bank in Khadr’s favour to back when he threw his grenade and killed how many up to that point. Compare that time frame to how long it took the government to come to grips with First Nation people, still today not completed, as compared to the $10 million paid out from a much newer event.
