Traffic stop leads to multiple charges

BLIND RIVER – On July 5, 2015 at 12:45 p.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Blind River Detachment stopped a westbound car traveling through Blind River for a traffic violation.  From their investigation the driver and passenger are now facing numerous charges.

Garmy GUERRIER (m), 28 years of age from Laval, Quebec is charged with the following offences:

  •  Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking, section 5(2), Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada(CCC)
  •  Identity theft-obtain or possess another person’s identity information, section 402.2(1), CCC, (37 counts)
  • Possession of a credit card knowing it was obtained, made or altered, section 342(1)(c), CCC, (27 counts)
  • Forgery of credit card, section 342(1)(b), CCC
  • Possession of instrument for use in forging credit cards, section 342.01(1)(b), CCC
  • Possess credit card data, section 342(3), CCC, (28 counts)
  • Theft over $5000, section 334(a), CCC
  • Fraud over $5000, section 380(1), CCC
  • Possess identity documents, section 56.1, CCC (10 counts)

Jocelyn LAGUE (m), 28 years of age from Laval, Quebec is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking, section 5(2), Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada(CCC)
  • Identity theft-obtain or possess another person’s identity information, section 402.2(1), CCC
  • Personation with intent, section 403(1), CCC
  • Forgery of credit card, section 342(1)(b), CCC
  • Possession of instrument for use in copying credit cards, section 342.01(1)(a), CCC
  • Possess credit card data, section 342(3), CCC
  • Theft over $5000, section 334(a), CCC
  • Fraud over $5000, section 380(1), CCC

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing in Sault Ste Marie.
