LITTLE CURRENT—The Northeast Town, specifically the Town of Little Current, is seeing yet another record-breaking year of construction in 2022, with several new builds, and construction in general, currently taking place in Ward 2 of the municipality.
As of October 12, the Northeast Town had issued 73 permits and five renewals in 2022, 12 of which are for new residential construction, two for multi-residential, seven new seasonal dwellings, eight new accessory buildings and two new commercial/industrial builds. Eight of those new build permits were issued for Ward 2, or the Town of Little Current.
In one month, September to October, the municipality has issued $21,496 worth of building permits with a construction value worth $1,754,000. Year to date, $131,746 in building permit fees have been charged by the municipality for construction worth $10,723,000.
Chief Building Officer Rick Armstrong tells The Expositor this is one of the busiest years ever for new construction in the municipality.
