Tournament of Champions draws teams from across the North

LITTLE CURRENT—The Wawa Travellers have secured top honours in the Tournament of Champions Bantam B Tournament hosted by the Manitoulin Panthers this past weekend with a final score of 5 to 2.

The Manitoulin Panthers put up a great showing, including 4 to 1 jaunt over the tournament winners when they first met in the 9 am Saturday game. The Panthers started off the tournament with a convincing 10 to 1 win over the Iroquois Falls Junior Eskies on Friday evening, but fell to the Cochrane Knights 5 to 7 in the 5:50 pm Saturday game.

Teams taking part in the Tournament of Champions included the Manitoulin Panthers, North Channel Lightning, Porcupine Jr Gold Kings, Sault Major Bantam B, Powassan Hawks, Temiskaming Shores Miller Paving Puckhounds, Wawa Travellers, West Ferris Trappers, West Nipissing Laurent Jr Renaud Sting and the Timmins North Stars.
