Tickets now on sale for 2024 men’s, ladies’ provincial championship

Little Current Curling Club hosting major event

LITTLE CURRENT—As members of the Little Current Curling Club (LCCC) gear up to host the 2024 Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA) men’s and women’s provincial curling championship, a great indication the event isn’t that far off is that tickets went on sale for the event this past Saturday.

“Ticket sales will start to go on sale this Saturday,” said Joe Cooper, chair of the organizing committee, last week. “Early bird tickets are available for $85 until the end of October, and $100 after that.” There will also be one day tickets available, all online through Ticket Spice.

“We have retained the services of Maple Leaf Ice Consulting and Tom Leonard, from Sudbury,” said Mr. Cooper. Mr. Leonard oversaw the ice the last time the Little Current Curling Club hosted a major event like this. In 2018 the men’s provincials were also held in Little Current.

Mr. Leonard, “will be bringing in an additional icemaker from Thunder Bay to help out as well. We will have good ice.”

“We are getting some sponsors on board,” said Mr. Cooper. “Manitoulin Transport will be a platinum sponsor ($10,000), with this being an NOCA event.”

The NOCA men’s and women’s provincial curling championship will take place January 23-28.
