TIMMINS–During the month of November, Timmins Police officers charged three people with impaired driving related charges.
On November 13, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, officers noted signs of impairment. The driver was administered a road side breath test, and subsequently transported to the Timmins Police Service. Alyn Harvey, 35, of Timmins faces charges of impaired driving and care or control of a vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
On November 15, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police received a report of a suspected impaired driver. Police attended a residence and noted signs of impairment in the driver. The driver, Lise Anne Goudreau, 50, of Timmins, was transported to the Timmins Police Service and charged with care or control of a vehicle while impaired and care or control of a vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
On November 21, at approximately 5:30 a.m., police received a report of a driver involved in a single-vehicle collision. Officers attended the scene and spoke to the driver, noting signs of impairment. After being administered the road side breath test, the driver was transported to the Timmins Police Service. Michael Murphy, 26, of Timmins faces charges of impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
As the holiday season approaches, the Timmins Police Service reminds residents of the importance of calling 9-1-1 to report suspected impaired drivers. If celebrating with friends and family, there are many alternatives to drinking and driving including designating a sober driver or calling a taxi. By choosing not to drive impaired, residents can help make the holidays safe and happy for everyone.
