Three candidates vie for chief of Sheshegwaning First Nation

SHESHEGWANING—A total of three candidates have been nominated for chief of Sheshegwaning First Nation with 11 people in the running for one of the four seats on council in the upcoming election.

Incumbent Alana Endanawas is in the race for re-election as chief, while Dean Roy and Nicole Bush have also been nominated.

Eleven people have been nominated for the four council positions. They include incumbent councillors Elma Marie McLeod, Jennifer Sampson, Nicole Bush and Gregory Owen Sampson. Also nominated for council was Christopher Endanawas, Caeley Genereux McLean, Deanna Sampson, Nicolas Leon Bush, Angela McLeod, Albert Cada and Ann Cada.

Candidates who have been nominated had until October 12 to withdraw their names for the election, which will take place on November 18.
