MELDRUM BAY—Everyone is welcome to take part in the third annual Poker Paddle on June 24 in Meldrum Bay.
Organized by Joe Weston, the first two years the event was held was mainly for friends and neighbours to get together for a fun day out. This year everyone is welcome to come have fun on Lily Lake starting at 10 am to support a good cause. All proceeds will go to the Manitoulin Health Centre in Mindemoya.
“Any type of non-motorized vessel is welcome, such as a kayak, canoe or paddleboard, but personal floating devices are mandatory,” a release explains. “The fun requires each player to collect a poker chip from each of seven stations on the lake. Chips are exchanged for playing cards and best poker hand wins. There are also chances to win door prizes and instant wins donated by Seven2OneStudio, Randi’s Snack Shack and Stop 540.”
