THECLA PHEASANT April 25, 1932 – October 7, 2018

Thecla Pheasant, devoted wife, mother and caretaker to nine children and over 100 grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was a mentor to women’s and Anishinaabemowin Language groups. Thecla volunteered for church organizations and was an ordained minister. In younger years she worked in the tourism industry at the Queen’s Hotel, Manitowaning and in McGregor Bay. In her leisure retirement she was an active participant in community events in theatre. She enjoyed road trips with her best friend Stella. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jerome and daughter Nancy, parents Brigitte (nee Wagosh) and Louis Gaiashk, and all her siblings; Daniel (nephews Jimmy and Alphonse), Delphina, Jean, Charlotte, Mary Louise, Lucy, Ignatius, Joseph, Henri, Alphonse, Louis, Lucy, Harvey and Julius. Survived by her loving children Kenneth (wife Nadine), Mary, Zhunyip (friend Isaac), Vivian (daughter April), Jerome, Hoss, Ronald James (friend Lorelei), Karen (husband Jackie), Lori and Gary. Her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren. nephew Ril and great- niece Laurieann. Visitation was from 1 pm at Southbay Community Centre on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 to the funeral Mass at 11am Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Grace Church. Southbay Burial at Southbay Cemetery.
