Tehkummah Talk & Times

I have to leave town to win. Thanks to Betty Jean, who drove very carefully over icy roads and even more carefully on the road home from Providence Bay after the big snowfall that appeared while we were playing bid euchre. Always fun and a great lunch as a bonus. Dorothy travelled with us. Door prize, Pat Norton; first, me, Pat Hall, 176; second, Pat Nelder, 150 (a great day for Pats); third, Eva Bond, 138; low, Bev.

A ride home with Beth from Bingo. They were just going to roll me out while driving by. I think it had something to do with my graceful entrance into the van. I did break even though tonight. Not a bad thing.

For well over three weeks, I’ve had a dandy snowdrift a third of the way up my window on the ledge. It has gone down to about a quarter, but there are about seven layers of ice and snow.

We sure had a lot of laughs at bid euchre on Thursday afternoon. I kept going down, Laura had a moon, and yet she finished minus 27 (low); first, Dave James, 177; second, Dorothy Cronk, 164; third, Pat Novak, 162; 50/50, Doris.

Four and a half tables for cribbage on Wednesday. High hand, Laura, 24 (Dorothy was close with a 23); first, Dorothy and Ted, 962; second, Gib and Florence, 933; third, Cal and I, 917; low, Yogi and Bobbi Jo, 856; door, Brad, Gib, Florence.

St. Patrick’s Day special event at the Tehkummah Hall. Supper, 5:30 pm, bid euchre in the afternoon, regular euchre tournament starts.

Received the most artistically creative envelope this past week in the mail with a lovely thank you note inside. The day we were at the restaurant in Providence Bay Sharon joined our Sr. U.C.W. group.

I hear Jeneen came through her surgery well.

Sis Susan is away this week, stopping to check on family in Ottawa and spending time, too, with Sister Peg in Guelph.

Being snowbound much of the past couple of weeks has limited my news.

Do you think spring will ever come? Looking out at the pile of snow surrounding this domicile. We may still see snow banks in July?

Have a great week.

Think Spring!
