Golly, I don’t know how midnight always comes so early- Maybe the naps in front of the TV help?
Kind of a busy day even when I don’t do anything. I was right out of pills, you know, those things that keep this old body ticking (sounds like a time bomb, don’t it??)
Mom and I went to Mindemoya, we had lunch at The Roosterant, to the bank in the pouring rain, to the laundromat, then drug store and grocery. When we got back, unloaded Mom’s, then mine, and went back so she could beat me at Cribbage again! Got a sore thumbnail, ripped it back! Hard to hold the pen.
Yesterday- I voted, and I voted, Tehkummah really changed-up. Congratulations to the new reeve and council.
I met Sherry and Cal for lunch at Queen Street General (Monday), shopped “Nacks”; love that little store, got some nice Christmas cards (special ones).
Sis Susan is on the road to recovery. Chris and Duane were headed Sudbury way Monday, for his treatments throughout the week. They stay with their daughter and family and are home here weekends. Chris was going to visit Susan today (Tuesday). Get well soon Bill.
Audrie and Betty Jean were big winners at Manitowaning euchre on Friday, Oct. 25th, thanks for my juice (cake).
Ray came home from the hunt; I didn’t see any moose legs sticking up?
A very scary old man with long white hair came in looking for a cribbage partner today- we had four tables. We also had four 20 hands, Lois had two, Betty Jean and Glenn; first: Glenn and Ruth- 943, second: Bill and Betty Jean- 933, Wooden Heart and Dorothy- 916, low: Gib and Florence- 916, door: Wooden Heart and Dorothy; good lunch.
Pauline took Mom and Wayne for eye appointments.
We were at the hall early decorating for our Christmas Tea. Lorna and Robert did the high-wire act, and the Christmas tree. Dorothy, Rita, Pauline and I did the walls and put the ornaments together, thanks everyone.
I got my cake out of the oven before reporting for work at nine, Reuben and Jeneen were planting tulip bulbs in the hall’s gardens today.
Skylar came in with the hugest Shitake mushroom, so I immediately cooked it up for my supper. Her dad told her she had to check them while he was away hunting.
It’s 6:15 am, I’m just going back to bed after a two hour soak in the tub. We’ll see if sleep still evades?
Well a phone call from Molly woke me around nine. I got over to visit Sis Susan, Lori came in while I was there bearing a tray of garlic cheese biscuits.
Susan and Simon had a skunk experience this week; Susan lost one of her silkies, and a couple of days later almost lost the other one. The skunk had it in its mouth, Wayne was visiting, heard the commotion and shot it in the act (Wednesday, or somewhere!!)
Elaine Bosje still is down with the flu bug.
Well, darn it, if it isn’t Monday again. Now I have to think backwards and it gets more difficult all the time. Last evening Cal and I met Gib and Florence at Carol’s and Earl’s for supper hour, later we played cribbage at Cal’s. The guys skunked us twice, but we did win a couple.
Last week Carol had a close encounter; in Sudbury for some tests, they were already back home, the hospital trying to contact them; she had an appendix ready to burst, but fast driving, emergency surgery, she was working last evening. So get well soon everyone.
Ronnie Pyette (Sault) had a couple of stents put in in Toronto recently.
Hi there, Candace too!
Sympathy to the family of Clive Hughson. Clive, a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, always friendly and jokey; we will miss him at the Euchre- he loved to play.
My weeks are never without their lovely blessings. Thank you “pen pal” Darlene, from Brechin area, and thank you to Bev for her nice words (written) Angels among us; this weeks bible study is all about them, at Linda’s. We are going bus-tripping to Espanola Thursday, so I will miss this one! It’s great to have Martin back with us again. All about the Saints. “When the Saints” at Fairview this weekend. At Carol’s and Earl’s today: Bert, Susan, Simon, Joan, Borden, Mary, Martin, Lynda, Mom and I. I just got a call from Diane McLean who has been with her mom in the Sault the past three weeks, so it was good to hear her voice.
Mollie and John, you didn’t make our tea on Saturday!
God Bless everyone, have a great week.
Sherry said she took the kids (Tara and the grands) through Debaj’s Haunted theatre “Don’t Let Go of the Rope.” Too scary for me although I used to always be the witch in ours- I wonder why?
I whomped mom good at cribbage after we fought our way through Friday mornings snow storm and wild winds. Lorna, Robert and I did a bit of prep work organizing pre tea/table arranging. Another successful Christmas Tea, bake sale, bazaar and many draws. Thank you to each and everyone who gives, brings, helps; even Mother Nature saw fit to give us a beautiful sunny but cold day. Thank goodness we didn’t do Friday. We have some male Sr. U.C.W. workers who we wish to thank for their help in up and down again: Robert, Richard, Wayne and Terry, do we appreciate your lifting and fetching!!
As for the kitchen girls- you’re the best. We were really rushed with Halloween being Friday night, but miracles can and do happen, with miraculous folk! Even the hall looked delicious!
