How can I be so lucky? I have so many people in my corner. It is very humbling. Thank you for the lovely cards and notes I receive!
That icy day.
Tara took my letters for mailing, and also faxed out my news column. I was going to do it when I saw her filling the bird feeders. She was soaking wet, cleaning stuff up this morning. It’s strange, but just yesterday the Goldfinch feathers were white and today a distinctive yellow is showing. I guess they know spring is supposed to be here, even if it’s not acting like it yet?
I just woke up in the awfulest panic. Someone just stole my van from in front of a hospital, no less. I’ve been there so many times before and down that same hallway, but I couldn’t leave. The door was different, my purse was in the van, too, with lots of money “ha” in it. Why do we dream? That’s my first panic one in quite a while. My heart was pumping.
A perky little robin was hopping through the snow under the apple tree today.
Bingo cancelled and the Tuesday birthday party as well.
Sympathy to Earl Davyes and all Carol’s friends and family in their loss this past week. After a long illness Carol lost her battle with cancer on Thursday.
Marlaina had a group of friends surprise her with a special birthday party at the Providence Bay Community Hall on Saturday, April 14. She said it was wonderful.

Laurene was in for a visit on Friday. Zoe had her fourth birthday this week. She would be my great-niece dog (or is?). Lori is having her time with tests and stuff lately.
Cal said he had a hummingbird at his window, seems early for the feeders, but?
Cousin Joan came in for a short visit on Thursday over my icy entry. Kind of treacherous, thank goodness, safely.
Earth Day, earth weekend, close to spring back? Again? And I did do a walk (small) in the yard and sat out in the sun for a bit earlier in the day.
Marilyn Lightstone’s classic hit parade sure is food for the song memories. Love it, Friday nights.
I guess the day of the ice storm, two Eagles stayed together in Anstice’s field below me, by all reports. I didn’t see them. Friday, Heirons’ field (next to Art Scott’s) I counted 160 Sandhill cranes and geese. The far field out back, a huge deer and a smaller one, and what was that black thing in the field that the man in the field was watching. Was it a bear? Looked like it from the road. Talk about seeing all your wildlife in one spot. Oh, I didn’t mention all the crows. Isn’t it great that they have fields to forage in especially when nature throws a monkey wrench in!
I have an amaryllis in bloom, two stems at once. Last year I got it for Christmas and it didn’t send up a stem, this year double! I got one again this past Christmas, a huge bulb, too, but no stem or bloom again. Waiting does pay off.
I’m sick again this morning, chewing down the ginger and in my Lazy Girl chair. Perhaps it’s cabin fever? Ha.
Susan and Paula came in for a little visit around noon, and that was nice. Paula came from Ottawa this weekend.
I’ve been hearing sad stories this week about folks finding small owls dead, I guess starved to death?
Sherry saw big bear tracks at the camp on Saturday; everything is hungry, I’m sure.
I was invited to Sherry and Dave’s for supper, but I changed my mind. I had a bad day yesterday and missed KFC last evening too at the neighbours (believe it or not).
There are not too many days in our lives that we don’t meet beautiful people disguised as Angels or is it Angels disguised?
Have a blessed week.
