I just looked at the clock, so I guess I’ll have breakfast for lunch! Got off the phone with my sister. We had such a good day yesterday, Pauline, Susan and I. Going through stuff again. Susan fed us twice delicious shepherd’s pie and graham wafer pie. (She’s taking over Mum’s baking skills!)
Then I had a “lucky” token that came out of Mum’s jewellery, so perhaps that helped me to win at bingo.
Busy Tuesday, took in the meeting at the Hall after a long dry spell, afterwards, I went to Mindemoya for pills, laundry, visiting and had a light supper at Grill and Chill. After that I came home, had stuff to do. Judy was in for a bit of a visit earlier too. A soak in the tub to pre-empt the aches and pains, that no doubt tomorrow will provide. It’s almost midnight as I write.
A bit of a snowy start to the day. But afternoon sunny and clear. We had five tables for cribbage: two high hands today of 24, Dorothy and Gib; first and second, tied with 919, Ruth and Bill and Laura and Ted; third, Lori and Rick, 917; no prizes, but the double Ms. had 916; low, Cal and I with 837 (due to the smelly scores); door prizes, Florence, lonely “Ted” Boy and Rick. Thank you so much to those who provided lunch. It is always so good and so much appreciated. The K.P. teams too.
I haven’t been calling in at the Library on Wednesday morning where their social get togethers are going on. There seems to be quite a few popping in to visit, have a coffee, or a sweet treat. Can you believe I’ve finally met Janice the Vet? I do believe she’s lived less than a half a mile from me. (I’m not going to ask for how long.)
Kim called one evening to check on me. Talking too, to Helen. The ban finally lifted on the nursing home in Wiky. I hear Joyce Holmes Sr. had a fall too, I hope you’re soon feeling better. Mollie talked from Winnipeg for a long time on Thursday evening. Heard today that Laura and Pat recently lost a son and a brother. Sympathy to the families.
Hey, before I forget, Happy Valentine’s Day to you all, my fans especially!
Get well wishes go out to Miss Amanda Albrecht. She has been spending time in Sudbury Hospital. Get well soon.
Can anyone read Nicholas Sparks novels without tears? I’m sure I cried through the last quarter of “Two By Two.”
Jeanette stopped in for a little visit, she and Yogi had been to Mindemoya celebrating their birthdays this week. Happy Birthday.
I said we’re having a picnic guys, it’s 4 am, and I have two cats looking at me strangely. I woke up starving, my belly rumbling. I think it’s because I’m only eating twice a day. I’m going to have to start getting up in the morning? Oh, our picnic was a bowl of raisin bran. They got the leftover milk.
Bid euchre had six tables and one: Graham, first, 206 points; Andy, second, 189; Sheila, third, 183; Joshua, low, 50 points; door prize, Andy; 50/50, Janet Dunn.
To the Valentine’s birthday people, have a great one. The only ones I can think of, besides my sister Mollie, is Betty Jean. All the Best!!
Justeen was in for a little visit. She showed me the beautiful calendar Evelyn did of Oshadenah Farm and family.
My sister Susan, ever thoughtful, left a pot of soon-to-bloom tulips on my table today. And a happy spring- it’s to be hoped so. She had spent a few days in Sudbury visiting family and friends. At one spot, talked by phone and waved as both husband and wife had a bad flu. How’s kindness week going so far? Are you doing nice things for folks?
Sherry and Skylar went walking to the far camp Saturday, snowshoes, I assume.
Here we have Sunday evening again, another winter week down the tube!
I hitched this morning, but it was a right-from-my-door- to-my-door ride, to church with Mary O’Neil. Today’s sermon, Glorys- Glorys- right Kathy? Radiance light.
My poem song even reflected the service. A good match
