Another day of blessings—nice card and letter, tarts and muffins from Laurene. Played a few games with Mum. Martin came in and brought two skunks with him. He gave one to Mum. Fun games any way (and prayers too). A beautiful Audrey Haggart card/note and homemade gift box with a butterfly and a pretty pin. Lucky too. Thanks Carol Lee!
Didn’t Sheila Armstrong tell me she had three robins come to her apple tree on Monday? Doesn’t feel like spring today at -30.
There were a few brave souls out to bingo.
Jacob filled my bird feeders for me on Monday night. Skylar is not well again with swollen tonsils? Strep?
A surprise phone call from sis Peg in Guelph this morning.
Sympathy to Judy Blue and family in the loss of her Mom last week. And get well to Bob who had surgery the same week. Thinking of you. It never rains but?
This week I had an offer of wigs should it become necessary. How kind everyone is being to me.
Wayne came and got Mum and I for Pauline’s Sr. U.C.W. meeting on Tuesday. Lorna taxied us home. A good meeting. Good lunch and delish desserts.
Steven Ahlborn cut his hand badly on a saw and had to have a tendon re-attached. Take care.
“Think twice before going on ice!”
Here it is Thursday morning. I’m going through poetry and stuff. A constant chore and battle. I’m the most disorganized, organized, paper people I know!
Just got a lovely cheer up phone call from Joyce Varier. A wonderful morning surprise.
We had four tables at cribbage. Our lunch was all sweet stuff. Good sweet stuff! Leftover birthday cake too from the Triangle Club birthday party on Tuesday. High hand, shared, 21, Betty Jean and Margaret; first place, Eugene and Dorothy, 954; second place, Mary and Jean (Mum), 919; third place, Margaret and Lois, 912; low, Bert and Joy, 846; door, Dorothy and Betty Jean.
Eleven, I’m in bed. I was going to go to euchre tonight but fell asleep in my chair, so…
Cal was in for a short visit. I was waiting for Pauline to pick me up for Bible Study at Pat Novak’s. What a nice afternoon, always a lunch served, lots of good food, as well as food for mind and soul. Their yard was alive with birds and deer. Their dog Nellie has been having health problems and they are quite worried about her. She’s a pretty black and white collie.
Friday a pair of hairy woodpeckers have joined the throng at the feeders. I haven’t seen more than one at a time here forever! The cardinals sure add a brilliant glow to the snow scene.
I’m booked for surgery on February 9.
A phone call from Florida. Joan says the weather has been cool. They’re busy though.
Friday—We were out to Barney’s before we left town. Saw lots of folks we knew. Susan had taken me in and we had lunch at Queen Street General with Helen and Bertha. We had a very nice visit. Short visit to drugstore and grocery.
The first “Meals on Wheels” was Wednesday evening. Absolutely delicious! Our delivery lady and her granddaughter!
Once again a terrific night of trivia at Knox Church Hall. There were four teams. We (Lori, Sherry and I) lucked out with Lynda, Brenda and Sandy joining our group (the Snow Bunnies). Our score was 86 thanks to their input. Tehkummah Titans, 84; Snow Birds, 84; Funtastics, 80. We came home full of snacks. Thanks for the tea and coffee, and our prizes. Thanks Martin for putting this together. Lori drove me in. “There’s no bunnies like Snow Bunnies!”
Lorie was celebrating her 59th birthday on Friday evening by waitressing! She waited on us at Carol’s and Earl’s. So happy belated! Eugene Pyette celebrates his on January 31. Way to go!
No I haven’t been winning again! Both Cal and Mum have defeated me (not too badly).
I stopped at Mum’s after church. After the service today we had our annual Fairview Church meeting. Quick snack/lunch and meeting. Speediest ever!
Thanks Sandra Pope for the lovely note and surprise. Appreciate the cards. Great picture of Bruce.
Next door a new neighbour moved in. Gemma is her name. She came on Saturday and is two years old. A pretty, well mannered, German shepherd/collie cross.
Hey only a couple of week’s until our Valentine Tea.
