When Kim call today talking about all the little rodents and stuff that ate their apple trees and shrubs, I also mentioned the skunk that was fresh in my mind (at Mum’s place). She beat me two, skunked one, and I made it by the skin of the last peg. That’s how close it was.
Felt a few flakes after Bingo and isn’t the ground white and the cars covered again this Tuesday morning? Poor little summer birds!
When I was playing in puddles last week one day, I had three roadside visits, Loretta, Betty Jean and Mary Balfe, who had recently returned from a mission (was it in Dominican Republic).
Friday we saw Ameal from the Buckhorn sweeping his driveway. Said he was going to sweep all the way to Tehkummah. We had a nice little side-of-road visit.
Seems to be a busy life we all live! Hope your Easter was happy! Did you watch the nights of the blood moon this past week? Such a beautiful color!
Deadline came early. Good news today! Joan phoned to tell me the Easter bunny was in her yard and almost all brown. So that’s good news. He’s already on the “Bunny Trail”.
Tuesday afternoon the Triangle Club held their birthday party. Mary Johnston did the lunch and cake. Helen sent out a couple of guessing games (eggs in baskets!). I won one and Joy won the other. Three contestants wearing a paper bag over their head took instructions to draw a bunny (one part at a time). Lydia’s was the most like a bunny. Lyle and Joy’s were the cutest. Nice to have our musicians back and we thank Lyle, Harold, Gordie and Peter. The Easter cake was a hit. Birthday people were Gordie, Eileen and Joy. Photos were taken. Prize #2 for me. I won a card game and immediately left Mum’s. Third win of the day, a beautiful Hydranga plant, at the “What The Health” event held at Queen Street General. A dinner Ceasar salad, spaghetti and meatballs, cake with mixed fruit dessert. This was an introduction to the Assiginack Family Health Team and their proactive warfare. To defeat/prevent today’s problem complaints. It was very well presented, jokes and all, with the food! Thanks Lori for drawing my name.
I stopped on my way home and let Cal beat me a couple of games of cribbage. My winning day done!
Tara attended Doug Kennedy’s funeral on Monday, her Foodland co-worker. Sympathy to the family.
Cal went to Sudbury on Monday. He stayed overnight since he had his eyes lasered. Says it really makes a difference.
At cribbage on Wednesday we had four tables of fun. High hand, Cal, 24; first place, Bert and Joy, 935; second place, Gib and Florence, 927; third place, Rick and Lori, 907; low, Lois and Audrie, 844; door, Joy. Thanks for the goodies!
