LITTLE CURRENT—Motorists experienced some slight delays while waiting for the Little Current swing bridge on Friday of last week, with intermittent closures expected into the future, according to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO).
“We carried out some welding on the bridge deck today,” Gordan Rennie, regional media spokesperson for the MTO, told The Expositor last Friday. “Traffic was stopped for up to 15 minutes at a time. This is the typical closure time when the swing bridge is in maritime season. The bridge remained in the closed position and the arms were down to allow the workers to carry out the work.”
Mr. Rennie noted that another half day of intermittent closures is expected in the future with work dependent on favourable weather.
