Swastika residents charged in drug bust

KIRKLAND LAKE – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit along with assistance of members from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) have charged two men and a woman with drug offences. The charges stem from the investigation of illegal drug related activities in the Kirkland Lake area.

On September 26, 2014, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers discovered a package being imported through the Vancouver International Mail Centre believed to have contained anabolic steroids destined for a residence in Swastika, ON. The CBSA notified the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit who executed a general warrant and controlled delivery of the package.

Seized as a result of the investigation were anabolic steroids, morphine and marihuana. The incident occurred on October 16, 2014. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $4,930.

  • Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Court on November 27, 2014

 Sandy TREMBLAY, age 29, of Swastika Ontario

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance.
  • Court on November 27, 2014.

Donald COLE, age 40, of St Catherines Ontario

  • Importation of anabolic steroids
  • Court on December 18, 2014

The three accused are schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake.
