Susan, as was her way, put everyone in her family ahead of herself, making sure we were all aware and at peace with her and James’ wishes. The family will never forget her strength and dignity, we will love her forever. Susan is predeceased by her mother Cecylia Bukala and her father Stanislaw Bukala. Susan’s parents bravely immigrated to Canada from Poland following WW2. Susan is survived by her brother Ed Bukala (wife Deborah) and her brother Tad Bukala. Also survived and cherished by her children Kyle Lafreniere (wife Toni), Melynda Hounslow (husband Owen) and Denise Lafreniere; brothers and sisters-in-law Bob Lafreniere (wife Vivian), Gary Lafreniere (wife Georgie, predeceased), Barbara Johnston (husband Bill, predeceased); eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild; nephews, children of brother Ed, Jason Bukala (wife Michelle) and Paul Bukala; niece Diane Lafrenier (Gilles). Susan especially wanted to thank all her exceptional caregivers who supported her every step of the way in her courageous battle at 4 North Tower HSN. Susan wanted to send a special thank you to Dr. Ben Quackenbush, nurses and medical staff at Manitoulin Health Centre during her final days. Susan’s family also wanted to thank all her medical caregivers for their unwavering support and compassion during this difficult time. They are truly special. Susan would like any donations in her memory made to MHC Auxiliary. In keeping with Susan’s wishes, there will be a private family ceremony. Interment will be in our family plot in London Ontario.
