SUDBURY—The Rainbow District School Board (RDSB) will offer Summer School remedial courses at the secondary level. In order to register, students must have completed the course with a minimum mark of 35 percent during the academic school year.
Classes will take place at the Continuing Education Centre located at Sudbury Secondary School (Davidson Street entrance) from Wednesday, July 2 to Tuesday, July 29.
Summer School courses include English, math and science. Courses are open to all students from public and separate schools.
The last day to register, in person, will be Wednesday, July 2 at the Continuing Education Centre.
Students are responsible for their own transportation.

There are also many opportunities for Rainbow students to earn new credits this summer.
The RDSB will offer many opportunities for students to earn new credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma this summer including summer school co-op, eLearning and the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course.
Secondary students in Rainbow Schools will be able to obtain one, two or three new co-operative education credits through work placements this summer. The work placements must be linked to courses students have already completed.
Students wishing to obtain one or two credits must register for the session that runs from Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, August 1.
Students wishing to obtain a third credit must register for the session that runs from Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, August 29.
Students registering for summer co-op must include a credit counselling summary from their current school so that the proper Co-op course codes can be applied.
Secondary students in Rainbow Schools can obtain one new Grade 11 or 12 credit in English, business, biology, physics, social science, or Canadian and world studies through the Summer eLearning Program.
Courses will run from Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, August 1, 2014. Students will need reliable computer Internet access to enroll in the Summer eLearning Program.
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC) is being offered as a new credit course through Blended Learning for students in Rainbow Schools.
Students will attend afternoon classes three times a week at Barrydowne College, located on the Cambrian College campus, and will be required to take online classes two afternoons a week.
The OSSLC course will also run from Wednesday, July 2 to Thursday, August 7.
