To the Expositor:
Once again this year, the Manitoulin Area Stewardship Council (MASC) will be looking for youths aged 15-20 to apply for our trapping course. Those interested should send a letter to the attention of: John Seabrook RR1, Site 1 Comp 9, Spring Bay, ON, P0P 2B0 describing their interest and explaining why they should be considered for this course, before May 31, 2013.
Although both young men and women have always been welcome to apply, MASC has yet to receive applications from females. In an attempt to close that gap, MASC is hoping to run two courses this year; one expressly for females, as publicized in The Expositor article dated February 27, 2013. We have a female volunteer ready to chaperon, should we receive sufficient applications. Because the trapping accommodation is a one-room cabin, co-educational courses are not an option.
Since MASC is a volunteer organization, offers of help are always welcome. If you would like to volunteer the use of your vehicles or your time, please contact our secretary at theresetrainor@hotmail.com or visit our website at www.manitoulinsteward.org.
Sincerely, Therese Trainor, secretary Manitoulin Area Stewardship Council Kagawong
