The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service responded to 51 calls for service for the period of July 21st -23rd, 2023.
STABBING INCIDENT BEING INVESTIGATED
On Thursday, July 20th, 2023 at approximately 4:30 AM, the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service responded to an ambulance assistance call on Wikwemikong Way on the Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.
While on scene, police were advised of a second incident involving a male stabbing victim. It was reported that a 31-year-old male resident of Wikwemikong had been transported to hospital with a stab wound. Injury was non-life threatening.
Investigation revealed that there was an assault incident that had taken place at the residence on Wikwemikong Way and that the suspect had fled prior to police arrival. The Wikwemikong Police actively patrolled that area with negative results locating the suspect.
