January 2nd, 2014. Here we are in a New Year. Happy New Year to all. I hope it’s a better one.
This past year hasn’t been good to so many. High winds and ice storms. Toronto area was sure in a mess for Christmas. And all the expense it entailed.
Saturday the 21st, we had an early Christmas at Allen and Rosemarie’s with Louis, Leighanne and family, Tracey and Royce Young and family, Brent and Tammey and family, David, Eric Eagleson, Connie and myself. We had a nice time together and opened our gifts with them. Lynda Peever was in and brought me some goodies. Thanks Lynda. George and Gayle Popowich spent Christmas in Sudbury with their family. Their granddaughter came home with them for a holiday.
Ken and Sheila Maeck had several of their family home for Christmas.
Since Christmas, the Maecks got word their brother passed away. The funeral is Thursday down country. We extend our sympathy to them.
Christmas guests with Michael, Sue White and family, John & Mary White, Jack, Lisa and April White, Peter & Jean Paquette.
On Christmas morning I went to Royce and Tracey’s and saw the children opening their gifts, and had a nice breakfast. Royce and Margaret Young were also there. We went and had dinner after at Royce and Margaret’s, also Blair and Sherry Gilpin.
David McAllister was at Brent and Tammey’s at Christmas. Christmas falling on Wednesday, for those working, it was hard to go very far. A lot celebrated on the weekend.
On December the 28th, Allen & Rosemarie, Tracey and Royce and Erma McAllister had a nice turkey dinner at David and Connie’s.
Don and Patsy Norton and Laura W Scott had Christmas dinner on Boxing Day with Lance and Lillian Greenman and family. Rev’d and Mrs. Dan Thompson spent a few days after Christmas with their family down country. While there Terry was skating, and fell and broke her wrist. We hope it isn’t too painful. We send get well wishes to her.
Irwin and Irene MacIntyre had several of their family home over the Christmas Holiday’s. Ray and Bev Webster spent Christmas in Sudbury with some of their family.
A nice service was held Christmas Eve at St Francis Church in Mindemoya.
It sure keeps cold, it’s taking a lot of fuel.
Christmas guests with Rev’d Bain and Lynda Peever were Bruce, Julia, the twins, Kate and Leam Peever, Kari and Magean Madore. They had a nice time together.
Barry and Dorothy Barnes spent Christmas in Cambridge with some of their family. Thanks to all for cards, gifts and phone calls, and dinners much enjoyed. Happy New Year all.
