August 18—Last week was a very cool week.
The Agriculture Fall Fair at Providence Bay on the weekend went over well. We had some rain on Saturday morning, but it cleared in time for the parade and things went as scheduled. There were lots of nice floats for the parade, and the band from Sudbury headed the parade. The exhibit hall had a good showing and the flowers were lovely. The entertainment was good all week and much enjoyed. The cow patty bingo went over well and the spots were sold. David McAllister was the winner. The quilt ticket was drawn and Lyle Dewar was the winner. Congratulations to them! There were a lot of light horses at the show on Sunday. Ava Assinewai from Manitowaning won two firsts and one third. They all did very well. It was a good fair, and the rain held off.
Get well wishes to Sherry Bond, who was in the hospital in Sudbury after having a heart attack. She is to come home this week.
A number of people are attending the Prime Time service and dinner at Abby’s Restaurant today (Monday).
Get well to all who are sick and shut in.
