Happy Canada Day! I hope you enjoyed the weekend.

A large number of people attended the Homecoming Weekend this past weekend in Mindemoya sponsored by the Lions Club. They ended the weekend with fireworks last night.

Providence Bay had some entertainment and games for the children on Canada Day as well as fireworks.

A gentleman from Woodstock was in on Tuesday to get one of my books. He said he has a piece of property on the 12th Line. And he also said he has a subscription to the Expositor and reads my column. I must say the Expositor sure gets to a lot of places.

The Twilight Club held their windup party until September. We had a barbecue and entertainment by Carol Gilmore and Wayne Smith. They had a tent set up and tables and we brought our own chairs. We enjoyed the time together and thanks to everyone who worked. It was much enjoyed.

Lori Brklacich and Charolette Leonard have been here holidaying at the Leonard home for a couple of weeks. I have enjoyed visiting with them and shared some eats.

My cousins, Richard and son Christopher Lougheed from the Ottawa area had breakfast with me on Wednesday before leaving for Thunder Bay. Richard’s grandfather was my mother’s brother Rev. A.W. Lougheed. It was nice to have a visit and see them.

Belated birthday wishes to Marg Piché, Lexis and Tracey Young. We hope they had a good day.

A number of people attended the graduation of the Grade 8 students on Tuesday evening at Central Manitoulin Public School in Mindemoya. Several awards were given out. Congratulations to our graduators!

A nice retirement party was held last week at the home of Fern Patterson for Jill Patterson as she retired from teaching. Many of her friends were present.
