The above is an images of the partial (annular) solar eclipse on October 14. Brett Zimmerman who took the photos explained, “Some of our lucky American cousins were directly under the path of the eclipse shadow and saw most of the solar disk covered by the moon. Here on Manitoulin Island we only saw what we can call a partial solar eclipse but the views were nonetheless impressive. We’re still two years away from solar maximum, so we can expect many more fantastic spectacles such as we’ve already seen across Canada, including here on Manitoulin Island.”
