SOLANGE DESROCHES TSUN

It is with great sadness that the family of Solange Desroches Tsun announces her passing on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Manitoulin Lodge, after a long illness. Solange was a beautiful woman who lived live wholeheartedly. She grew up in a little francophone community of Ontario, Lafontaine, but left in her teens to find work in the big city of Toronto. There, she found the love of her life, John Tsun, with whom she raised a large family of eleven children. Solange experienced many hardships in her life, but her joie de vivre and her strong faith always helped her stay positive. Solange loved her career as a French teacher in Toronto, as well as her summer and retirement baking business in Meldrum Bay. Vivacious, spontaneous and outgoing, Solange had a voice that could fill a cathedral, and we keep her joyous voice in our memories. Solange is predeceased by her parents: Gilbert Desroches, Annie Laurin; and her siblings: Clarence (Geneviève) Desroches, Orphila Desroches, Sister Stella Desroches, Bertrand Desroches, René Desroches, Donald Desroches; and her children: Gary Tsun, Cynthia Kauppinen (Taisto), and John-Aimé (Janet). Solange is survived by her husband: John Tsun, Meldrum Bay, ONand by her children: Yvonne Mark (Joe), Douro, ON; Laurette Tsun, Meldrum Bay, ON; Alina Tsun, Toronto, ON; Holly Haggarty (Jack), Thunder Bay, ON; Jasmine Phillips, Toronto, ON; August (Tina) Tsun, Toronto, ON; Josh (Maria) Tsun, London, ON; Wendell Tsun, Toronto, ON and her grand children: Sonja Peeples, Anita Peeples, Guinevere Martin, Robert Broughton, Erin Broughton Nicholson, Suzanna Broughton, Valaire Roerick, Ariel Tsun, Cameron Perkins, Justin Perkins, Brandon Tsun, Alejandro Parra Tsun, Daphne Doble, Leon Haggarty, Moira Haggarty, Alice Phillips, John-Aimé René Tsun-Magan, Elena Tsun, Calvin Tsun, Linden Tsun, Charlotte Tsun, Camilla Tsun, brother in law Owen “Peter” (Mickey) Grimsby and son in law Taisto Kauppinen as well as a growing number of great grand children.
