SUDBURY–On Tuesday the 29th of April, shortly after 9 PM, Greater Sudbury Police were alerted to a Weapons Complaint in the area of Denis Crescent, Azilda. Responding officers learned that several shots were fired from a vehicle at a 24 year old male who was seated in a parked car. The victim’s vehicle was struck but fortunately the victim was uninjured. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene and was last observed southbound on Marier Street. The suspect vehicle is described as a light colored van or SUV possibly a Chevrolet or GMC or Dodge Caravan. The incident remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Service.
Update: While the incident is still under investigation, it is believed that the victim in this matter was deliberately targeted by the assailant and this was not a random act of violence.
