Shoplifting in Espanola

On May 17, 2017 at 1:56 pm, the Espanola Police Service were once again called to attend a local grocery store regarding a complaint of a shoplifter apprehended by store security.  When the officer attended it was determined that a female had attempted to steal approximately $35 in grocery items from the store, by concealing the items in her purse. The attempted theft was witnessed by store security and the female was arrested as she attempted to leave the store without paying for the hidden items.  The 29 year old female from Sudbury was arrested and charged with one count of Theft Under $5000.00, and will appear in Espanola court on July 17, 2017.  She was also trespassed from entering any grocery store associated to the grocery store chain, including those in other cities such as Sudbury.
