PROVIDENCE BAY—The Sherry Forest Rink has won the annual Providence Bay Ladies’ Curling Bonspiel held this past weekend.
The Forest Rink, which included Nancy Head, Sue Whynott and Jill Patterson, took first place in the first event of the bonspiel. For their efforts they were presented with the Glenda Campbell Memorial trophy.
Runner-up in the first event was the Marilyn Proulx rink, with Andrea Lentir, Nancy West-Cranston and Karen McDougall.
Taking top spot in the second event was the Ellen Holroyd Rink, which included Bev McDermid, Donna Whalen and Judy Mackenzie. The Shannon Drouin skipped rink finished second. Her rink was made up of Andrea Tann, Anna Love and Tammy Groombridge.
The Nancy Leeson Rink took top spot in the third event. Her rink included May Bowerman, Lori Leeson and Janet Anning. Runner-up was the rink skipped by Regan Millsap and her teammates Rebecca Strain, Gaynor Orford and Janet Anning.
A total of 16 teams participated in the bonspiel.
