SHARON MONTGOMERY
March 28, 1947 – May 7, 2024
Sharon Montgomery, born March 28, 1947, passed away peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre May 7, 2024. Predeceased by her husband David Montgomery, leaving behind her daughter Debbie Graham (Oliver) and son William Kupchanko (Colleen); grandsons Jordan and Zach Whalen; great-grandson Gabriel Whalen along with many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her dear friend Bill Wilson. Sharon was a very spiritual person and has happily gone to be with her Heavenly Father. Sharon was born in Hamilton, Ontario, the second oldest to Edgar and Ena Brandle (predeceased); siblings Gary (predeceased) wife Josie, Arrabelle (predeceased) and Don Brandle. Sharon moved to Manitoulin with her husband Dave from Hamilton in 1989. After a weekend trip to Manitoulin, they felt the calling and purchased Bridal Veil Variety in Kagawong, where they spent many years being involved with the
community and visiting with locals and travellers. After selling the store they purchased a B&B in Kagawong where they continued to entertain tourists and made many lifelong friends. Sharon was a member of the Red Hats, the Christian women’s group and the HAM radio group. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her church family. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Manitoulin Centennial Manor for their patience and dedication to their residents, thank you to the staff at Manitoulin Health Centre for keeping her comfortable on her last day and Dr. O’Connor who was Sharon’s family physician, she didn’t go a day without mentioning how well he looked after her. A Celebration of Life will be held June 24, 2024, 11 am at the Spring Bay Pentecostal Church to be followed by a light luncheon and then burial in Kagawong. Donations in her memory can be made to the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary.
