Search warrant carried out in Sagamok First Nation

SAGAMOK–On October 10 the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, North Bay Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Anishinabek Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in Sagamok First Nation.

As a result of the investigation a quantity of cannabis marijuana and a prohibited weapon were seized. Two individuals were charged and are scheduled to appear in court on December 4, 2012. One individual is currently outstanding and an arrest warrant has been sought for his arrest.

The street value of the drugs seized is $1,440.

Charged are a 54-year-old of Sagamok First Nation man with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime and a 54-year-old woman, also of Sagamok, with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.
