ROSE VIOLET MISHIBINIJIMA

March 22, 1949 – June 23, 2017
After a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family, Rose passed into the Spirit World. Beloved and devoted wife of Ed Mishibinijima for 43 years. Loving mother to Kevin (Melanie), Ed (Elaine), Elvis (Sueann), Eugene (predeceased) and Elliott (Marie Ann). Beloved and loyal sister to Mary Gaiashk (Jim predeceased), Shirley Shigwadja (David predeceased), Edna Orford (Ted predeceased), brother Jacob Aibens (Cindy), brother-in-law John Simon (Isabelle), sister-in-law Barbara Simon and Shirley Pullon (predeceased). Cherished grandmother of April, Alyssa, Gregory, Nikita, Mackenzie, Ashlin, Lily, Brooke and Haileigh, great-grandchild Mylah, God children Ashley and Alex. Predeceased by her parents Gabriel and Seraphine Aibens (nee Osawabine), brothers Phillip, Simon, Robert, and Lloyd Aibens. Sadly missed by many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, family members and friends. Rose started her working career in Toronto doing assembly line work for Kispax. Got married and raised five wonderful boys. Resumed working as a PSW for S.F.N and Noojmowin Teg and finished working in the janitorial department. Rose played broom ball, blooper ball and enjoyed bowling and Bingo even into her later years. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, attested by the many family gatherings and game nights she liked to organize. She was an excellent cook, her homemade bread was incomparable. Visitation from 1 pm Monday, June 26, 2017 at the family home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni.
