Grandfather Light that Shines through the Clouds
December 4, 1956 – August 29, 2017
In loving memory of our beloved Ronald “Zozep” Fox “Mishomis-Zhiibaassige” who suddenly began his Spirit Journey on August 29, 2017. Dearest son of the late Thomas and Angeline Fox. Cherished and loving father of Angelina and devoted grandfather to Nicole, Brandon, Jonas and Arianna. Ronnie (aka R2) was anxiously waiting to be a great-grandfather. Fondly remembered by his wife Carol Fox (nee Assiniwe). Predeceased by brother Richard “Frenchie”. Loving brother of Loretta (predeceased) (Russell), Robert, Lorraine (Ronald aka R3), Linda (Gerry), Wayne (Deborah), Hazel (Marcel), all of Wikwemikong, Lorri-Ann and Rodney (Deborah) of Hamilton. Godfather to Cynthia Bell, Jason Manitowabi, Andy Recollet, Christopher Assiniwe, Stacey Assiniwe-Manitowabi, Michael Bell and Adrianna Osawamick. Cherished nephew of Margaruite and Lawrence Wassegijig (predeceased), Paul and Margaret Fox (predeceased), Mary Fox, Dominic and Agnes Wagosh (predeceased), Ida Fox (predeceased), Lloyd Fox (predeceased) and Helen Jacko, Edward and Dorothy Fox, Alphonse Roy (predeceased), Alice and Valentine Wassegijig (predeceased), special Uncle Kenny Roy (predeceased), Doris, Harold Clausen and special cousin Betty Bell (Harvey predeceased). Affectionately referred as Zozep by his late father and Giigwiss by his brothers and sisters. He loved and cherished his only daughter and grandchildren so much and enjoyed spending his free time with them. He especially liked watching Brandon play hockey, never missing a game. Ronnie was a hard worker and skilled carpenter; he was always there when you needed him. He was an avid photographer of his own caliber. He loved playing pool and cribbage with his best friends Gail and Ronnie Animikwaan (aka R1). He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who called him Zhizheh. We will miss his many gete aansokinan (his old-time childhood stories and adventures). Ronnie will also be deeply missed by his many dear friends, cousins and inlaws who have so many wonderful memories of him. Special visitation was at his home, 1379 Kaboni Road, beginning Thursday, August 31, 2017. Wake services continued on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the St. Anthony Daniel Church in Kaboni. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Holy Cross Mission Church at 2 pm. Interment at the Kaboni Cemetery.
