Robin Malley elected to vacant Sheshegwaning council seat

SHESHEGWANING FIRST NATION—Robin Malley has been elected to fill the vacant councillor seat on the Sheshegwaning First Nation band council.

Ms. Malley was elected from among six candidates in the running for the councillor seat in a by-election that was held in the community this past Saturday, July 20. Ms. Malley received 29 votes to be elected for the councillor position. Kaeley Genereux-McLean received 22 votes, Christopher Endanawas with 20, Deanna Sampson with 16, Joey Laford Jr. with five votes and Joe Shinos receiving four votes. 

As had been reported previously, Jennifer Sampson had resigned from her position on council earlier this year.
