Update: As of 4:26 pm, April 7, the town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands has cancelled this significant weather event issued earlier in the day.
Manitoulin OPP is advising of the following road closures in the area due to severe winter weather conditions:
– Highwya 17 from Espanola (intersection of Hwy 6/Hwy17) to Sudbury (Lively)
– Highway 6 from Little Current to Espanola
– Highway 6 from Little Current to Southbay Mouth
– Highway 540 from Little Current to Meldrum Bay
Reminder to motorists that driving on a closed highway may result in a fine of $110 and 3 demerit points.
