Renowned harp player Gianetta Baril plays for residents of the Batman’s Resort on Manitoulin Island

Residents of the Batman’s Resort on Manitoulin Island received a special treat on July 10 when world renowned harp player Gianetta Baril made a surprise visit. She parked her van in one of the campground sites and soon the air was filled with the sound of angelic music. In the evening, she opened the side of her van to reveal a huge harp. Gianetta has played her harp around the world and has devoted her life to making music and sharing its transformative power. In response to the pandemic, she turned a van into a self-contained rolling home/concert hall with her harp, Amadei and cat, Misty. Based in Calgary, she took the comfort of live harp music on the road, stopping wherever people were in need of hope and inspiration. 60,000 kilometers and over 300 concerts later, she is still on the road and we were fortunate to have her stop on Manitoulin Island for a few nights.
