RENE ISADORE MANITOWABI

In loving memory of Rene Isadore Manitowabi who passed away at the Manitoulin Health Centre on Sunday, March 27, 2016 in his 81st year. Dear son of Samuel and Isabelle Manitowabi (nee Trudeau) (both predeceased). Beloved husband to Lima (nee Pangowish) (predeceased). Loving brother of Tina Mandamin (Ted), Julian Manitowabi, Connie Pitawanakwat (Malcolm), Caroline Mandamin and Louis Manitowabi (Agnes). Predeceased by siblings Mary Wemigwans, Nancy Recollet, Theodore Manitowabi, Alphonse and Dominic Manitowabi, Elizabeth Abel, Marina Pitawanakwat (Raymond), Francis Shawanda, Gertrude Maiangowi and Wilfred Manitowabi. Special father to Rolland and Eric Pangowish. Dear Godfather to Marlene Manitowabi-Fournier, Tammy Manitowabi, Rene Recollet and primary care giver Harry Recollet and little helper Addy. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Rene loved to play bingo and poker. He was a football and baseball fan. In his younger years Rene enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping out at Prairie Point. He worked as a miner in Wawa and Sudbury as well as had a 25-year career with GM motors in Lansing, Michigan. Rested at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah from Tuesday, March 29, 2016 after 3 pm. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11 am at Holy Cross Mission, Wikwemikong, Ontario. Interment in Wikwemikong Lower Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
