RAYMOND ROY WHITE

RAYMOND ROY WHITE
December 2, 1927 – October 13, 2021
We are sad to announce the passing of my beloved husband Raymond Roy White in his 94th year at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on October 13, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born on December 2, 1927 in Little Current, Manitoulin Island to George and Pearl White. He leaves behind my family in London and many family members on Manitoulin Island. He touched many lives with his literary skills and poetry, some of which is stored in the Sheguiandah Museum, particularly a write-up on the accomplishments of John Deagle (with respect to an electrical plant). He loved woodworking; building all kinds of furniture, etc. He was employed at the B.P. Oil refinery, farmed and his last working days were 18 years at Westinghouse in London where he sustained a back injury in his late 50s. He was not able to get back to work again, resulting in an early retirement. We enjoyed several visits to Manitoulin and he loved going on fishing trips with his nephew. Ray loved the old hymns, his favourite: “ Be Thou My Vision,” which we will certainly sing at the memorial service in the near future. He was appreciated at the nursing home “Strathmere Lodge” for his kindness. He will be missed. He is now in God’s care, suffering pain no more. We shall meet again on that Celestial Shore. Rest in peace, well deserved. Betty White and family. Interment of ashes will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in London.
