To the Expositor:
In my opinion regarding Ontario, to save time and money the two new provinces should retain their present names, Northern Ontario and southern Ontario. These would become their official names.
Another way to save a lot of time and money would be to cut the border at 45 degrees north latitude. That would save 10 to 20 years of deliberations (“talks” of where to put the border).
After years of thought on this and looking at different kinds of maps on the area (geographical, agricultural, historical, climatic, soil, even population), I have come to believe that just straight across from Quebec at 45 degrees north latitude is the best.
That way we get Ottawa and we officially distinguish ourselves as separate from southern Ontario.
