Cheryl Sheppard enjoyed a holiday to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic with her 13-year-old nephew Quinn from Espanola. While there, they had fun swimming with the dolphins in the ocean. As part of that adventure they got a very fishy smelling kiss from a sea lion, a tropical bird show where they were able to feed the birds right out of their hands. Another adventure that they went on was to ride segways. As part of that tour they swam in a cenote which is a natural sinkhole in the bedrock exposing the groundwater underneath. They made great memories together and made a lot of friends.

Despite Mother Nature providing unseasonably warm weather the Manitoulin Island Dirt Riders Association was able to host their planned event. Thankfully they were able to solve the problem of the question that if you don’t have a snow base, how do you have a snow drag race? The answer, you collect it from wherever you can and bring it in and make the base. The weather was beautiful, the races went well, the food was great and everyone had a good time.
