Old man winter has sure thrown a mixed bag of weather at us this winter. It’s hard to know what to expect next. From frigid temperatures to unseasonably warm, then record snowfalls to spring showers. Some say that it’s the effect of global warming but US president Donald Trump says that’s fake news and we only report real news here in the Providence Bay News and Notes.
Happy Belated Birthday wishes go out to Ashley Noble who celebrated on January 21.

The monthly euchre tournament will be held as usual on the last Tuesday of the month. In January, this will be January 30. The euchre tournaments differ from weekly euchre games in that you are required to have a partner for the tournament. The weekly games and the euchre tournament all begin at 8 pm on Tuesdays. They are held at the Twilight Senior’s Club in the basement of the Providence Bay Hall.
Shout out to Mary Jo Gordon and Alex Baran. Mary Jo was instrumental in planning, organizing volunteers and work bees to ensure that our Village Square is such a welcoming and beautiful spot to visit. We are also lucky to have Alex living in Providence Bay and to speak on our behalf with Central Manitoulin council. Thank you both for everything that you do for our community.
If you have something that you would like to contribute to the Providence bay News and Notes, please let us know.
