The Pearson Cup Hockey Tournament was another resounding success with many players and spectators in attendance. The winner of the Sportmen’s A Division was the Gore Bay Team beating out the King team in overtime. Some really exciting hockey went on. The B Division winners were the local favourite, the Stuart Pearson team, over the Karen team. In the 35ers A Division. The Wikwemikong team was victorious over the Refills. M’Chigeeng 35ers beat out the Gore Bay team for the B Division. Great times were had by all.

Happy Belated Birthday wishes go out to Peter McAllister who celebrated on January 13. His wife April celebrated the following day on the 14th.

The Providence Bay Library has reopened their doors after the Christmas break. Their regular hours of operation are: Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm, Wednesdays from 1 to 3:30 pm and Fridays from 1 to 4:30 pm. With the cold weather we’ve been having, it’s a great reason to borrow a book and curl up in your favourite spot for a good read.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Alicia McAllister who celebrated her 28th birthday on January 17.

Happy Birthday also goes out to Bonnie McFarlane on January 22.
